Duration
One month

The challenge

The National Workforce Skills Development Unit needed to support the growth and development of the mental health workforce at NHS scale. Managers and workforce planners required practical guidance on induction, retention, training, development and progression.

The information existed across research and policy sources, but it needed to become something busy users could find and apply quickly. The delivery window was one month.

The approach

Curio mapped and prioritised content around real user needs before defining the technical requirements. The team iterated the structure and page designs within NHS brand guidance, focusing on concise, grab-and-go resources rather than recreating source documents online.

What Curio delivered

  • Content mapping and prioritisation
  • User-needs-led information architecture
  • Technical requirements and an implementation approach
  • NHS-aligned HTML5 page templates
  • Curated guidance, research and policy resources
  • Content covering induction, retention, training, development and progression
  • A complete toolkit within one month

The result

Managers and workforce planners gained a central digital resource designed around the tasks they needed to complete, delivered quickly enough to respond to the immediate workforce need.
