The challenge

Educating for Freedom supported higher-education instructors in developing more inclusive and equitable teaching practice. HHMI wanted to extend the course's reach and broaden its treatment of inclusive teaching without losing the elements that already worked.

The project scope evolved during delivery, requiring an approach that could respond without fragmenting the experience.

The approach

Curio redesigned the Canvas templates and created new animated content to make key concepts more accessible. When HHMI broadened the brief, the team incorporated the additional perspective into the existing course rather than treating it as an unrelated addition.

What Curio delivered

  • Updated Canvas course templates
  • An improved visual and structural experience
  • New animated learning content
  • Broader coverage of inclusive teaching
  • Adaptation to an evolving project scope
  • A unified course rather than a series of appended additions

The result

HHMI received an uplifted and expanded version of Educating for Freedom designed to support a wider conversation about inclusive teaching practice.
