The challenge

Incoming international students needed different information at different stages of their transition. Presenting everything at once would have created cognitive overload and made important support harder to find.

The University needed an experience that could sequence information, manage cohorts and give students clear signals about progress and next steps.

The approach

Curio organised the experience into three modules aligned to the arrival journey. Custom Canvas functionality managed content release and cohorts, while progress, navigation, imagery and terminology support made the environment easier to use.

What Curio delivered

  • A custom three-module Canvas template
  • Staged information and support
  • Cohort and content-release integrations
  • Progress indicators and breadcrumbs
  • Quick links and visual signposting
  • A custom glossary for key terms
  • An experience aligned with institutional Canvas standards

The result

During the three months after launch, the environment recorded 930,534 page views. The course home reached 15,800 unique students and 11,600 unique students used the glossary, showing substantial engagement with both the overall experience and a purpose-built support tool.
