The challenge

Leeds University Business School wanted to strengthen carbon literacy among staff and students. The source content carried genuine subject expertise, but expertise alone doesn't create a usable short course.

The material needed a clear progression and practical learning experience without being stretched unnecessarily into a longer format.

The approach

Curio worked from content supplied by the University's subject-matter expert and shaped it into a concise self-paced journey. The design prioritised essential concepts, purposeful activities and a workload appropriate to a focused microcredential.

What Curio delivered

  • Review and structuring of specialist source content
  • Learning outcomes and a coherent course journey
  • Instructional design suited to short-form learning
  • Self-directed activities and resources
  • A complete online course designed for roughly five hours of study

The result

The University received a focused carbon literacy offering that could reach staff and students beyond a single live workshop and let participants learn at a time that suited them.
