The challenge
Kids First wanted to extend EYEP beyond the reach of in-person training and support early-childhood educators across Victoria. Moving existing material online without redesign could have diluted the trauma-informed and relational principles central to the program.
The platform needed a clear, accessible experience and a way to collect pre- and post-course evidence without manual follow-up.
The approach
Curio developed a learning blueprint around trauma-informed care and relational pedagogy before implementing the course in a branded Canvas portal. Interactive and progress features supported engagement, while accessibility considerations were included from early design.
Existing pre- and post-course assessments were converted into Canvas quizzes to simplify evidence collection.

Kids First gained a scalable environment capable of taking EYEP professional learning beyond the limits of in-person delivery while retaining a distinct program identity and built-in assessment collection.
