The challenge

Kids First's previous strategy covered 2017 to 2020. As that period concluded, the organisation needed more than an annual update. Leaders wanted a long-term view that remained true to purpose while responding to changes in community need, service delivery and organisational sustainability.

The approach

Curio structured the engagement in three stages. First came a review of the sector and organisational context. Leadership sessions then explored the future vision and strategic options. Finally, the team translated the chosen direction into a practical strategic plan.

What Curio delivered

  • Review of external and organisational context
  • Facilitated leadership strategy sessions
  • Vision and strategic-option development
  • A ten-year strategic direction
  • Medium-term goals and investment models
  • KPIs spanning impact, service expansion, financial sustainability and workforce capability
  • A final plan reflecting organisational purpose and community context

The result

Kids First gained a long-term framework for decision-making and investment rather than a short list of near-term initiatives.

The final plan reflects who we are and where we want to go, grounded in evidence, driven by purpose, and responsive to our community.
