The MicroCreds project needed a national discovery experience spanning seven universities. Each partner brought its own course information, systems and stakeholder needs, while learners and enterprise buyers needed the result to feel like one coherent marketplace.
The platform also had to represent course and credential data in ways compatible with the wider European learning ecosystem.
Following a competitive EU tender, Curio combined user research, multi-institution stakeholder engagement, service design and platform development. Learners and corporate HR buyers took part in interviews and card sorts. Partner universities helped define technical and data requirements.
Designs progressed from low-fidelity concepts to tested high-fidelity experiences before implementation on Course Hub.
The first version of microcreds.ie launched in March 2023 after a four-month discovery-to-development phase, creating a shared national route into flexible learning from seven universities.
