A progression planning tool for the University of Sydney's ADP students

The challenge

Students were enrolled across multiple programs without a single view of their academic progression. Understanding completed requirements and future study involved piecing information together across systems and documents.

The School needed a clearer student experience that also fit the University's institutional Canvas standards and could be managed internally.

The approach

Curio designed and implemented a progression-planning tool inside the existing Canvas environment. Stakeholder feedback shaped the experience through iterative cycles rather than a single requirements handover.

Training documentation supported the ADP team in managing the solution after implementation.

What Curio delivered

  • Stakeholder discovery and iterative design
  • A visual academic-progression experience
  • Integration with institutional Canvas
  • Support for pathways across multiple programs
  • Alignment with university platform standards
  • Staff training and administration documentation

The result

Students gained a clearer way to see their pathway, while the School received a solution its own team could administer.
