Trust Alliance members wanted portable digital credentials, beginning with child safeguarding. Each organisation had developed its own standards and language, making it difficult to recognise capability consistently across recruitment, onboarding, training and accreditation.
Before a credential could be trusted, the Alliance needed a shared definition of foundational safeguarding competence that worked across different roles and organisations.
Curio reviewed safeguarding standards from members and external bodies including ACFID, DFAT, Child Wise and CHS Alliance. A discovery workshop brought representatives from ten organisations together, followed by interviews with safeguarding subject-matter experts.
The findings were synthesised into a framework and refined iteratively with members.
The Alliance gained shared language and a common capability foundation that members could apply across recruitment, induction, development and compliance.
