To Future Me, a trauma-informed digital learning platform for Kids First Australia

Written by Curio Group | Aug 10, 2026, 9:00:00 AM

The challenge

Kids First needed a digital experience for sensitive consent education. The interface, language and interactions couldn't add cognitive or emotional burden for people engaging with material connected to trauma.

Accessibility and plain language therefore had to shape the product from the beginning rather than appear as a final compliance check.

The approach

Curio combined digital strategy, clinical alignment, trauma-informed learning design and modular product development. Reflection tools supported personal engagement while the interface prioritised clarity, agency and predictable interaction.

The partnership extended beyond launch through a commitment to ongoing hosting and maintenance.

What Curio delivered

  • Digital strategy and trauma-informed learning model
  • Inclusive interface and plain-language content
  • Clinically aligned learning modules
  • Guided reflection tools
  • A modular and secure front-end platform
  • Hosting and maintenance support after launch

The result

To Future Me became part of Kids First's work and received Gold recognition at the 2023 Better Future Melbourne Design Awards.
