Career development is often separated from the curriculum and positioned as an additional service students must seek out. ECU wanted employability learning to sit closer to students' academic experience and work across disciplines.
The modules needed to be relevant regardless of the learner's field while giving academics practical guidance for implementation.
Curio designed six Career Development Learning modules around reflection, recognition of strengths and exploration of future directions. Student focus groups informed the experience, including testing three approaches to note-taking before selecting templates aligned with student preferences.
ECU gained a reusable way to integrate employability development within different courses and disciplines.
