A static competency list can describe what matters to a profession without helping an individual decide what to do next. CPA Australia wanted members to identify strengths and development priorities, then move directly from insight to relevant learning.
The framework had to reflect professional practice, work across a large global membership and translate into a digital experience people could understand and use.
Curio consulted CPA Australia stakeholders to identify core capabilities and skills, then structured the framework into capabilities, elements and statements. The team used member research, interviews, wireframes and prototypes to test how the framework should appear in a self-assessment journey.
Development proceeded iteratively against a phased roadmap rather than as a single large release.
CPA Australia gained an industry-focused framework and self-assessment tool through which members could identify areas of strength and development and access relevant learning resources from the result.
